We start from Ponta Delgada towards Relva. The descent to Rocha da Relva is by a narrow path dug into the cliff. It is an easy runway and offers no major risk.
Not far from the trail you will come to a fork on the trail, where you can turn left to visit Rocha do Gravel first, before continuing the descent to Rocha da Relva. This is the only clue that leads to Rocha de Relva, located on a terrace of rockfall (fajã), of which there are many on the island of São Jorge, but few in São Miguel.
Once on the fertile terrace, you will see many wineries, the result of a microclimate that is just for vineyards, fig trees, and fruit and vegetable production. Hikers are asked not to pick fruit along the way.
The return is done by the same route.
